What You Can Do with a Business Degree

Business degrees are very popular for their versatility. Those who get their business degrees online can go into many different fields and may be qualified for a wide variety of different positions. Many business degree holders start out at an entry-level management position. Some business grads choose to take sales positions. Many business graduates start their own companies. The possibilities are almost unlimited.
How Employers View Business Degrees Online
Some students are worried that future employers will look down on business degrees earned over the Internet. However, times have changed and employers no longer considered business degrees earned over the Internet to be less valuable. Of course, in most cases an employer will not even be aware that potential employees took their college classes online.
The Requirements of Business Degree Programs
Different schools may structure their business programs in slightly different ways, but most programs are similar. Students usually start out by taking two years of general education courses. These courses may include instruction in math, science, and humanities. Once students have completed their general education courses, they move onto their business courses. They usually start taking general business courses during their junior year and move onto classes in their specialization in their senior year. Most business degrees require students to complete a total of 120 credits, although some online business schools may require slightly more.

How These Rankings Were Created
Our formula for ranking these schools takes both the tuition charges and graduation rates for each school into account. Public institutions generally have different tuition rates for in-state and non-resident students, so we only consider the in-state tuition rate. This rate is increased by a multiplier that comes from the percentage of students who did not graduate. For example, a school with yearly tuition of $15,000 and a graduation rate of 50% would have a rating of 22,500 (15,000 x 150%).
