Our Ranking Methodology

We used our own formula to rank the institutions on this list. Our formula works with two statistics: graduation rate and yearly tuition rate. Many of the biomedical engineering schools on this list are public institutions with different tuition rates for resident and non-resident students. For the sake of convenience, we only looked at the resident tuition rate for these schools. Our formula takes the relevant tuition rate and adds a multiplier that is equivalent to the percentage of students who enrolled but did not graduate. This is an example of how our formula works: ABC Tech has a yearly tuition rate of $20,000 and a graduation rate of 70%. Its rating would be 26,000 (20,000 x 130%). Lower ratings will result in better rankings.
