Our Ranking Methodology

Our rating system considers two factors: tuition and student-to-faculty ratio. We use each school’s yearly tuition rate, and we only look at the in-state tuition rate if the school charges differing rates to residents and non-residents. We take this rate and multiply it by the number of students per faculty member to get the school’s overall rating. For example, School #1 has a $10,000 yearly tuition rate and a student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1. This school would have a rating of 100,000 (10,000 x 10). A lower rating will result in a better ranking on our list.
