Associate’s degrees are usually used as a stepping stone to a bachelor’s degree. There are some exceptions to this general rule, especially in regards to the more technical associate’s degree programs. However, an associates in psychology is almost always used as a stepping stone to a bachelor’s degree. An associates in psychology alone will not give graduates the qualifications for high-level jobs in the field. Graduates may be able to find employment as an assistant to a practicing psychologist.

How We Calculated These Rankings
To calculate these rankings, we looked at two statistics. First, we considered each school’s yearly tuition charges. For institutions that charge in-state students different rates than non-resident students, we only looked at the in-state rates. Next, we looked at each school’s student-to-faculty ratio. To come up with each school’s final rankings, we multiplied their yearly tuition rate by their student-to-faculty ratio. For example, a school with yearly tuition of $10,000 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 15-1 would have a rating of 150,000. A lower rating is better than a higher rating.
