Animal Behavior is a multidisciplinary degree that prepares students for a variety of careers. The following list of colleges offer an accredited bachelor’s degree program in animal behavior. Indiana University
A public institution for higher learning, Indiana University Bloomington is the flagship campus for the Indiana University system. The program for Animal Behavior is offered through the College of Arts and Sciences. Students gain functional knowledge of the causes and consequences of the behavior of animals, skills to critically evaluate scientific inquiries, and an appreciation of the evolutionary, ecological and physiological mechanisms of animal behavior. In this interdisciplinary degree, students will take introductory, research methods, and capstone courses in animal behavior, along with courses in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, and psychology. Canisius College is a private Jesuit College that was founded in 1870 and has grown to provide over 100 degree programs for students of all faiths. For those seeking an exciting career in animal behavior will find a rigorous program that blends behavioral biology with animal welfare and wildlife conservation. The program provides a strong scientific knowledge blended with hands-on learning opportunities in labs and field experiences. Another strength of this program is the ethical and legal considerations students learn. Participants will have opportunities for internships and research activities with faculty.
What makes Canisius stand out is that they are a whole department (not a major within a department, or a concentration within a major), making them unique. The majority of their students complete at least one internship, they have strong local connections at the zoo, aquarium, SPCA, and many other facilities, and in a normal year, they offer multiple travel opportunities to broaden and expand experiential learning. They regularly take students to Africa (South Africa or Kenya), Belize, and Costa Rica and anticipate bringing on at least one additional trip in the coming year.

The degree of Animal studies at Eckerd College is of an interdisciplinary model that takes students through courses of the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and communications.
